Katherine Johnson
Katherine Johnson worked for NASA as a mathematician, where she performed calculations for space flights, including the Mercury, Apollo, and Space Shuttle programs. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her work in 2015 and was one of several African American NASA mathematicians featured in the 2016 film Hidden Figures.
