7,000 Dailies Cover Campus
Management Will Be Board of Student Publications From Each College
Final draft of the constitution for the proposed Board of Student Publications plans has been completed and is printed in full below. Seven thousand copies of the Daily were printed for distribution to every student voter in the University.
The plan will be submitted at the general elections Friday, April 28th, and if ratified will go into effect the following year. Candidates for publications offices this year are not affected.
Backers of the plan declare that the scheme would take editorial offices, now elective, out of politics and place them on a appointive basis.
The constitution follows:
Constitution of the Student Publications’ Association
The University of Minnesota
We, the students of the University of Minnesota, hereby associating ourselves for the purpose of publishing a daily newspaper, a monthly magazine, an annual, and such other publications of an All-University nature as may be in the future established by this association, do ordain and establish the following constitution and by-laws:
Article I
Name and object:
The name of this association shall be the Student Publications Association of the University of Minnesota.
The object of this association shall be the publishing of a daily newspaper, a monthly magazine, an annual, and such other publications of an All-University nature as may be in the future deemed advisable by this association."
