Description
Image of a clipping of a newspaper article titled, ""Ariel Association Meets," edited from a digitized version of a page from the January 13, 1900 issue of the Ariel student newspaper (186). The text is displayed as it originally appeared on the page layout. The text is as follows:
"Today, at the fourth hour, the Ariel Association will meet to discuss the question of a daily. This is really a matter of considerable importance, not alone to the student, but to the whole University. A college is known to a considerable extent by the character of the paper it publishes. The board has tried for several months to ascertain the sentiments of the students in relation to this subject, but as opinions seem to be divided it has been found necessary to call a special meeting of the association to decide upon the best course. Several plans have been proposed. One is to change the present Ariel into a daily. Another plan is to retain the present paper and to publish a bulletin in the early part of the week. A third plan, which is probably the best of all, if it is possible to carry it out is to publish a bulletin each day during the week except Saturday on which day the regular Ariel would appear.
The matter is now placed in the hands of the Association for their careful consideration and final decision. All that the board asks is that a large crowd turn out to the meeting in chapel today at the fourth hour in order that the real sentiment of the students may be known."
