CONDEMNED TO DEATH 1914
Twenty one years ago other students were on this campus and other campuses, throughout, the United States and the world. They were much like us. They wanted to live happy contented lives.
Then the war came and those students listened to their elders and read the newspapers and went to war, because they thought they could save the world from future wars and safeguard their countries. And English and French youth was set to work killing German and Austrian youth, and later American Youth was sent to do its part. After millions of men and boys were killed and wounded and millions of women and children suffered starvation and want, the war to end all war was over.
1935
Now in spite of the idealistic sacrifice of countless thousands of lives (1914-1918) the war drums are beating. Germany is rearming, France is arming her frontier, England, Japan, Italy, Poland, and the United States all are preparing for the war they are sure is coming.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
We can and must protest, and quickly. We must join the world wide youth movement against war. We must strike at the causes of war. We must show that we will not allow ourselves to be hoodwinked into lethargy by those who would pooh-pooh youth movements and draw the red herring across the trail of peace. Radical and conservative, socialist and Republican we must stand together----------or WE TOO ARE CONDEMNED TO DEATH!
STRIKE AGAINST WAR!
Issued by the Peace Action Committee.
PLEASE PASS THIS ON.
