Scrapbooks

The scrapbook pages include articles about events and activities organized by the Women’s Athletic Association (WAA) clipped from issues of The Minnesota Daily student newspaper and other publications, circa 1923-1963. Some pages also include hand-drawn illustrations, inserts such as programs or invitations, and photographs, though these materials are included sparingly.

Article clippings are arranged and affixed to pages with rubber cement and/or other adhesives. The adhesive on some pages has weakened over time and in some instances clippings or other ephemera have detached from the pages. Residue from the adhesive is present on the pages where the missing clipping or item was previously attached.

Most article clippings are arranged chronologically according to season or term of the academic school year. Years and terms (fall; winter; spring) are hand-written on some pages. However, the specific date of the issue the article was clipped from is not consistently cited. Further, some articles are folded and/or obscured by other articles.
