Photographic scan of front cover of Lak’ota pte’ole hoksila lowansa: Wo’unspe t’okahe (Singing Sioux Cowboy), Ann Nolan Clark, illustrated by Andrew Standing Soldier, translated by Emil Afraid-of-Hawk, Lawrence, Kansas: United States Indian Service, 1947. Cover is full-page illustration with black serif type for the creator information and Lakota title and with larger yellow decorative type for the English title printed at the top. Illustration features a smiling cowboy atop a rearing horse, the cowboy’s arm extended as he spins his lasso. Background is a grassy hill and sky full of large fluffy clouds. White paper strip and binding staples visible on the left side of cover.
