Susan Kuklin was born in Philadelphia. She received her BA (1963) and MA (1965) from New York University. After teaching English in New York City and film at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, she began writing books for children and teenagers. Kuklin, a well known nonfiction author and photographer, has combined her skills in dance, theater, and photography with her ability to delve deeply into the details of a subject, telling extraordinary stories about the amazing untold life experiences of young people. Susan Kuklin, an active member of PEN resides in New York City.
