Patriotic Events: Minnesota State Fair - St. Paul, 1906

The Minnesota State Capitol Building in St. Paul opened on January 2, 1905.  It is hailed as one of America’s grandest and most beautiful buildings.  The St. Paul Growers’ Association, with much pride in their new capitol, built a model of it out of white onions for their 1906 Minnesota State Fair exhibit.  This photograph of the onion building is found in the 1907 Northrup, King & Co. catalog.
