This exhibit features several proclamations from the government of England from the 1600’s.  Each page features one document known as a broadside that has to do with English trade, both with other European countries and with England’s colonies, such as the ones in America. To learn about how these documents were used, click on the broadside tab at the top of this page, and then use the other tabs to see more examples documents up close.
