Description
Alfred Blalock of The Johns Hopkins Hospital was a well known cardiac surgeon who performed the first procedure to treat the congenital heart defect Tetralogy of Fallot in 1944. Following the announcement of the success of the controlled cross circulation method to repair congenital heart defects, Blalock requested materials describing the method from Lillehei.
