The planning, preparation, and presentation of these programs required an enormous amount of work by a great many people. A special university appropriation made it possible to more than double the size of the KUOM staff during this period. In addition to contributors paid for their work, many others volunteered their services.
All contributing personnel, those of the University, the Twin City radio stations and newspapers, and the professional and nonprofessional individuals who offered their services, demonstrated a remarkably cooperative spirit in a time of community emergency.
