This regular KUOM series of health talks is conducted by Dr. William A. O’Brien, professor of public health and director of postgraduate medical education at the University of Minnesota. During the emergency, Dr. O’Brien’s friendly, informative discussions were revised to appeal to children and teen-agers, as well as to their parents. Program content dealt mainly with subjects pertinent to the polio epidemic - the causes of infection, various methods of prevention and cure, and practical safeguards to be adopted by children and parents alike during the crisis.
